I became a counsellor after spending years in the corporate world. Like many people in demanding careers, I experienced stress and mental health struggles that were hard to manage on my own. It was through my own experience of therapy that I discovered just how powerful and transformative it can be.
Therapy helped me understand why I felt stressed, how to manage the pressures I faced, and ultimately how to improve my overall wellbeing. That experience sparked my desire to help others in similar situations, which led me to train and qualify as a counsellor.
Alongside my clinical work, I occasionally contribute to wider conversations about mental health, including speaking on BBC Radio Wiltshire about the emotional pressures people often experience during the Christmas period. These conversations reflect the same values that guide my work in the therapy room: calm, thoughtful, and grounded in real-life experience.
I truly believe that everyone deserves access to mental health support, but I feel especially passionate about ensuring men feel able to seek therapy. Too often there’s a stigma that men shouldn’t talk about their emotions or ask for help.
Asking for help is a sign of strength. Men, like everyone else, deserve a space where they feel comfortable, respected, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. I’m here to listen without judgement, to offer support, and to walk alongside you on your journey towards better mental health.
